Here are some tips on training a Portuguese Water Dog puppy:
• Keep training interesting and challenging. Porties are intelligent dogs who become bored easily, and if unchallenged will not train well
• They can become nippy if not properly supervised, so provide a number of toys and well as correct supervision to redirect this trait into play
• Introduce your puppy to people, children and other dogs young in order to socialize them from an early age
• Provide crate training and housebreak your puppy
• Teach your puppy to follow particular words and commands
